I don’t want to call this an update as I could not produce any testable IPS at the moment. But, I would like to inform you guys that I have fixed the Pirate Ship bug where you get to encounter the exploding Boo Buddies.

The Seaside Town glitch where you get to face Yaridovich twice was also been patched, and so are the bugs found on Booster Hill.

Thanks to all those who beta test the hack, most especially to Setzer for pointing out the major bugs of the game.

I know it’s been almost 5 months of silence. I had been extremely busy with work and family, but I’ll try to find time in the next few days… Thanks to all those who support SMRPGX.

Hello guys, sorry for yet another delay.

There’s just too many things to do, and I hadn’t really got enough time on the hack, but anyway, here’s a small update on the ips:

The Booster Tower Main Area Booster freeze has been remedied, and is expected to work now. Thanks for the beta testers who pointed it out (see Forum. However, I haven’t yet gotten into the rest of the stage.

There may be other bugs left, and I hope it’s not that quiet many. For the beta testers, I have already updated the IPS here.

Please report any bugs you find on the forum on this link, and I’ll just work on them whenever I got time.

And also, you may no longer find the SMRPGX Forum under Forums on the NR site, please access them via this page or through this link.

Regards…

Beta Test Open
Posted on October 16th, 2010 at 3:39 PM by al2fenrir

Sorry for the very long delay guys. I tried as quickly as I could but I haven’t got enough time to spend on the hack.
.
Unfortunately, the hack still contains numerous bugs, this was due to a corruption brought about by LS. When I tried to add new maps, the levels and scripts were destroyed. I tried to preserve much of the ROM, but as you know, I am just one man and I couldn’t fix everything without your help.
.
So, I’m going to open this hack for open beta once again to determine which parts of the ROM had been damaged. If you are interested, please download it here.
.
Thanks for supporting Super Mario RPG Expansion…

Good news guys. Instead of weeks, I manage to clean the hack in just a day. I dunno how I’d do it, but somehow I just made it. Thanks to LS 3.2.

And because of that, SMRPGX can finally go open beta. I dunno the extent of corruption done to the ROM when I edited it outside of LS, but hopefully it can get fixed… with your help, of course.

For those who have participated in beta testing, I have already sent the messages along with the link inside. Please report any bugs you find on SMRPGX’s Forum. Thank you…

Busted!!!

Sorry to inform you guys, but the hack’s going to take a few more weeks until I figured out how to solve the enigma that’s corrupted the ROM. As you have heard earlier, Super Mario RPG Expansion is going to adapt Giangurgolo’s Custom Items including the Kuribo’s Shoe, Relay Flag, etc. However, due to an unfortunate event, the ROM has been corrupted and the items had mess up.

Normally, Mario could run faster only when the Relay flag or Bunny Shoes is equipped. This time, Mario moves faster by default. The Stone Cap or Adamantine was supposed to make Mario turn into stone, now, it no longer works. It only slows him down.

I’m sure the problem lies somewhere on the codes above… but, if you just look at the codes, you would get the idea how much work this would take me. Once again, sorry for the inconvenience.

SMRPGX Bloopers
Posted on September 6th, 2010 at 1:11 PM by al2fenrir

The hack is at 93% complete. I was gonna mimic the Pipe Vault Thwomp ground-shaking effect when this came out as the result.

Apparently, this bug made mario roll over endlessly.

Don’t worry guys, this bug is nothing compared to the beheaded Mario bug captured on the previous unfinished TC project, wherein whenever Mario sleeps on an Inn, he wakes up with his head falling on the floor, like the one on the image below.

Anyway, enough with the bloopers. This is just a small update to compensate for the delay, and so that the site could also contain something new.

Final beta is expected to surface one to two weeks from now.

I had finally completed the abandoned sewer lost level. Here is a peek at what this level looks like.

If you’ve noticed, this level was actually a revamp of Giangurgolo’s Bob-omb Mafia hack’s sewer level. There’s a boss at the end that runs by the name Akaname. As the name, it does resemble the Japanese goblin monster. This boss was apparently Sabakis, but I had changed it to have its own unique touch.

The Super Mario RPG modification is still ongoing. This time, I have finished it up to the Bowser’s Keep 6-doors level. There’s nothing quiet new to show at this point so I just added one new flash game on the site – Bullet Bill. This should at least keep you guys entertained for awhile. I have also added a new tutorial to the Lazy Shell tutorial section. Hopefully, I would get to finish all those tutorials that had long been delayed. Anyway, slow and steady does it.

Hi guys, SMRPGX is close to finish, but I need to be sure that all the scripts are intact. However, beta testing is a difficult task for only one guy like me, so I need your help to test my hack. All you have to do is play my hack and report back any anomalies you find in the game. This way, I will be able to know where I mess up. By determining the problem, I would be able to patch it up.

If you guys are interested, please comment here or see me on our forum at: Super Mario RPG Expansion Forum
